Malaysia Property Exposition (MAPEX) 2006 Perak

MAPEX 2006 Perak, the inaugural property exposition organised by the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA) Perak Brance, was launched by Datuk Bandar Ipoh on 16th June 2006.

The tradeshow wasn't as huge as we thought. We reached there pretty early so there weren't many visitors in the exhibition. Most of the participants are property developers, but MBI, and other related merchants (like autogate system sellers, filling station sellers etc) are also taking part in the tradeshow. Banks like Maybank & Public Bank were there for promoting their housing loan plans.

Most property units showcased there are houses and condos. Only a couple of property developers are also selling shop offices, but the locations are pretty far - one is in Meru/Jelapang, the other one is in Simpang Pulai. Surprisingly there is no developers marketing any property project in hot spots like Greentown.

MBI also setup several booths for promoting the state government's city planning policies and related information to the Perak citizens. The main purpose is to let the local citizens know more about the function of each department (like Town and Country Planning Department, Jabatan Penilaian dan Pengurusan Harta etc), procedures of applying for a property development, and information regarding Perak-GIS. Perak-GIS is a digital planning and development system that enable the Perak administration to manage more efficiently the development and infrastructure plan, and to faciliate the state planning and development policies. Nothing much related to our business, but nothing bad we know a little bit more about that.
